Worried about getting it wrong? A guide for men, written by a woman!

We women can be fickle creatures at the best of times, so for many of you, purchasing lingerie for us, whether it be romantic, sexy or even erotic, can prove to be quite a daunting and even stressed out experience. Are you one of the thousands who find yourselves in a lingerie shop, feeling, and looking very uncomfortable and not knowing where to start? Well don't worry, you are certainly not alone.

Most men find buying lingerie for their partner difficult or worrying in one way or another. Some may have got it wrong without knowing it or at least admitting to it, others may have never done it for fear of getting it wrong, many have done it, got it wrong and vow never to do it again.

If any of the above ring a tune of familiarity, then fear not, it really is not that difficult, honest.

There are of course, a few points to consider before purchasing that special item.

1. Who is the item for?
2. What does she like? Do you know?
3. Is the present for a special occasion? What occasion?
4. What colour do I get?
5. What size do I order?

Lingerie can make a woman feel many different ways, attractive, feminine, sexy, and even wanton! Close luscious fabrics against the skin can make a woman feel incredibly sexy and sensual. This is how you want your gift to be received.

The golden rule is to never buy an item of lingerie just because you like it and it looks great on the model. Try to think of who you are buying the gift for, what she likes, her personality, her style of clothes etc. After all, she is the one who is going to be wearing it. If your lady seems most at ease with 'comfortable underwear', she is unlikely to appreciate being presented with a pair of crotchless knickers! No matter how luscious the fabric and how sexy the lingerie is, if your partner does not feel comfortable with the item, you may as well have bought her a bin liner!

If at all in doubt of what style of underwear to choose, especially if this is the first time you have purchased lingerie for your partner, play it safe. Opt for something sexy but pretty, and if colour confuses you, remember, black looks great on everybody.

Hopefully, by now, you will have looked through our range of lingerie and probably picked out a few possibilities in mind but have no idea what size to order. This is a little more difficult as everybody's size and shape is different so it's going to take a little detective work on your park. Lingerie comes usually in one of two ways:

1. Bust size, 32b, 34a, 36c,
   You will find this on the labels of your partner's bras
2. Dress size, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 etc,
   You will find this on the labels of her blouses, tops and dresses.

With all this in mind, you should be able to find the perfect size for your partner.

Presentation

Now that you've found the perfect item for you partner, don't spoil it! Presentation is just as important as the gift itself. If you present her with a beautifully gift wrapped present that she hasn't even got time to look at, or just look at quickly because she is up to her neck in laundry or in the middle of cooking the children's tea, you will have totally lost the desired effect.

You want her to be surprised and pleased with her gift, and hopefully to try it on straight away. So create the mood. Choose a quiet time, open a bottle of wine and perhaps even accompany the gift with some flowers or chocolates. She'll be very aware of the time you have taken to choose this for her, and the thought of how it was given. Remember, a little thought goes a long way.
